Paris, France – As part of its strategic approach to growth, 2BS announces a major change in its governance, to homogenize the representation of existing biofuel sectors, integrate the biogas sector and prepare for the eventual arrival of new partners. By better integrating the professionals concerned by its field of expertise, 2BS is strengthening its mission to offer simple, effective sustainability certification solutions.
In this context, 2BS announces a change in the composition of its Board of Directors. Terres Univia, the interprofessional organization for vegetable proteins and oils, now shares representation of the sector with the FOP (Fédération Française des Producteurs d’Oléagineux et de Protéagineux) and the GTOM (Groupement des Transformateurs d’Oléagineux Métropolitains), thus renewing the balance between the various professional organizations and interprofessions on the Board.
Following the launch of 2BSvs-biogas certification in 2023, two members of the biogas industry also join the Board of Directors: AAMF (Association des Agriculteurs Méthaniseurs de France) and FGR (France Gaz Renouvelables). Both organizations played a major role in drafting the 2BSvs-biogas certification standards. Their entry underlines 2BS’s commitment to incorporating diverse renewable energy perspectives into its strategic vision.
“The evolution of our governance reflects not only our commitment to broadening our field of expertise, but also the solidarity between the structures representing the agricultural world. By welcoming the new members, we are strengthening our ability to open up our business to sustainable players while supporting virtuous practices in the renewable energy sector,” said Laurent Rosso, President of 2BS.
By strengthening its governance structure, 2BS is also getting ready to serve new sectors, such as wood energy, to support developments in the renewable energies sector and respond to future challenges and opportunities.
About 2BS (Biomass, Biofuel Sustainability)
The 2BS association supports fuel and biomass producers and traders in their sustainability certification. For over 10 years, 2BS has supported virtuous agricultural approaches and developed technical know-how in partnership with agriculture and biofuel industry experts.
The association offers a simple, effective reference framework for obtaining 2BSvs sustainability certification, recognized by the European Commission as part of the Renewable Energy Directive (RED). With this certification, players secure access to their bioenergy markets. In 2024, 2BS issued its thousandth certificate. www.2bsvs.org
